national iced tea day

did you know it's national iced tea day today? it is! i'm surprised we don't make this a bank holiday in the south, dedicated to sitting outside and sipping sweet tea. sounds like a good idea in my book... anyways, i picked up an iced snow flake latte from tealoha on my way to work this morning to celebrate. i had never had one before, and it was so good! it features a coconutty black tea with steamed milk and organic sugar cane syrup. i'm not usually a coconut person, but i really liked the subtle flavor of this drink. and, it was much lighter and more refreshing than a frappuccino. if you've never been to tealoha before, today is the day to stop by. they have a wide selection of tea lattes and fruit teas, if you're looking to try something other than your standard sweet tea.

  2. Tealoha is one of our favorite places in Greenville! We actually haven't been in a while, but a few weeks ago we were both running super late to work and basically decided since it was on our way and we were late anyway... we just had tea at Tealoha for a few minutes before we had to split off and go out separate ways.

Snowflake is my favorite. They can do an Assam latte that is absolutely amazing, but it depends on who you ask - usually when we ask for it, they tell us it's no problem but the last time we went in, the guy working kind of gave us attitude about how they don't do that anymore... and then agreed to do it. So I don' tknow. But if you have a chance, order an Assam latte. Assam is a very smooth, woodsy tea that just pairs perfectly with honey and steamed milk.

Have you tried any of their food yet? Definitely try their Belgian waffles or breakfast sandwiches if you get a chance! They're delicious.

    1. hi katie! that was my first time trying the snowflake actually. i usually get the london fog, which is my favorite. have you had it? both of your suggestions sound great, so i'll have to go in for breakfast one morning. usually i go in for a lunch or an afternoon snack. (swamp rabbit cafe stecca bread makes for the best sandwiches.) i've only ever had one person wait on me there, and he was really nice, so i'll definitely ask him about the assam. thanks for the tip!
