holiday fairs

it's hard to believe, but it's already time to start thinking about christmas shopping. i don't know about you, but i love the thrill of searching high and low until you find that special, meaningful gift for someone. combine that with the rush i get off of bargain hunting, and the way i feel about christmas is probably how a lot of people feel about going to vegas. so, i've had my ears to ground for any upcoming holiday specials, and it looks like there's a few on the horizon.

urban digs announced a block party at stone's point via instagram. if you're looking for some greenville-made goods, this is pretty much your one-stop shop. community tap has everything you need for the craft beer/wine lover in your life from growlers to game of thrones brews to tshirts. urban digs has an eclectic mix of plants, cute coffee table books, baby gear, and handmade jewlery from a variety of local artists. and dapper ink and billiam jeans offer locally printed tshirts and locally sewn jeans. plus, methodical coffee will be on-hand to bring tidings of comfort and coffee.

indie craft parade recently announced their holiday fair and it's new location. i went to the one in the village last year, and it was so much fun. it's a great chance to get the indie craft parade experience on a more low-key scale. the holiday fair features one-of-a-kind gifts from past parade participants; and this year, it's being held downtown in one of the galleries at the greenville county museum of art. you'll be able to stock up on greeting cards, art, kitchen wares, jewelry and even some spice rubs. i can't wait — i'm definitely planning to snag a few items i had to skip at this year's parade.

swamp rabbit cafe & grocery will also be having a series of holiday fleas. first up is their food flea on december 6th from 11 am - 3 pm. gnosh on some snacks you can actually feel good about from area farmers and cooks, all made with love and local ingredients. the following weekend, they'll also be having a holiday flea with local artists and vendors. i've been to a flea or two of theirs in the past, and they have everything from homemade dog treats to beautiful glass sun catchers. plus, the grocery is open for gifts and lunch, as well!

p.s.

this isn't really a fair, but shindig furnishings is also having their grand opening this weekend. (remember i won those awesome vintage tumblers off their instagram?) if you've been drooling over the mad men sets for years, you have to check them out. their selection is great and the team that curates the store is super nice. asada will be dishing up food and community tap will be pouring drinks, so it should be a good time!
