Rosé Tasting at Community Tap

pink wine is the best wine

Last night, I went to a rosé tasting with Sarah, Andrea and Kate from work at Community Tap.  If you haven't been yet, it's is a cool, little growler station over on Wade Hampton Boulevard.  They have a great beer selection and occasionally hold tastings and events in their back room! (You can find more info on them here.)

For $15, you got five tastings, which was a great deal.  One of the owners of Community Tap was the host, and he said he was inspired to have the evening after a trip to the south of France where he fell in love with the rosé from Provence.

All of the wines were wonderful and varied in  their beautiful color.  They were light and fruity without being overly sweet, as rosé is so often mistaken for.  Plus, the whole thing was so well organized, and our host really knew his stuff.  We learned so much from how to naturally ferment the Domaine Saint Martin to what gives the wine its beautiful pink hue.  (I think that's the Domaine de la Berthete Cuvee Sensation above.)

They even had the cutest crostini and Parmesan cheese to gnosh on while you sipped.

It was hard to pick a favorite, but I ended up buying a bottle of the Charles & Charles, pictured above and below.  What can I say? I'm a sucker for good design!

Another big thanks to Community Tap for hosting such a great event.  I can't wait to go to another!
