French Open Recap

les nouvelles de Roland-Garros

Did you see the French Open finals this past Sunday? I only caught the men's game, but there was no shortage of action in Paris.  Not only were Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer duking it out in the rain, but several protesters ran onto the court with lit flares.  Just watching it on TV, I was terrified; I can't even imagine what their families must have been feeling, but luckily no one was hurt. They finished the match with Nadal taking his eighth win at Roland-Garros and making history as the man with the most titles from any one Grand Slam tournament.  After getting knocked out of the first round last year, Serena Williams redeemed herself and beat out Maria Sharapova to take the ladies' title for her 16th Grand Slam title.  In case you missed it, here are a few of my favorite photos floating around tumblr. Next up, Wimbledon!
